Summary
39-1
Kumoko is struggling to sleep in her camouflaged hammock bed due to nightmares brought on by the effects of the [Taboo] skill. She has determined that the people of this world brought it to the brink of destruction in their folly and wonders if [Taboo] is the reason she slaughtered the humans who invaded her home so easily, but decides not to jump the gun until she has decoded the rest of the information.
Kumoko finishes eating the Arch Taratect and then sets to raising her skills, hurling rocks at herself to raise her resistance to [Earth Magic] but because the rate the skill is increases at diminished as the damage lowers, combined with a greater amount of EXP being needed, it looks like she has raised it as far as she can. Deciding all she can do now is spend the rest of her skill points, Kumoko reviews the skill catalogue.
Kumoko awaits Earth Dragon Araba in the pit where she massacred the Finjicote swarm, waiting out in the open until he arrives. Using [Appraisal] on Araba, Kumoko sees she has more skills and titles but Araba has much higher stats. Tougher than Earth Dragon Kagna and faster than Earth Dragon Gehre, an allrounder with no weaknesses. Kumoko is relieved her fear that day was real. Kumoko resolves to make Araba look down on her and let her live that day, the day she fell into the Lower Stratum.

Kumoko starts the battle by throwing a Black Spear at Araba, who returns fire with a breath attack. Neither attack was intended to hit, both testing the other. Having measured each other up, the real fight begins.
Kumoko retreats into the air to reduce the effectiveness of Araba's [Earth Magic] whilst Araba gives chase. Once she far enough up, Kumoko unleashes an absolute storm of Black Bullets, doing some damage to Araba, but his regeneration heals him almost instantly. Araba returns fire with a breath attack, but Kumoko teleports next to him and unleashes a barrage of Black Bullets, forcing him mouth closed, and making the breath attack explode inside Araba's own mouth. Araba tries to swipe Kumoko with his tail but she dodges.
BAck at a distance from each other, Kumoko and Araba start a magical shootout with Black Bullets, the spells cancelling out each other while Araba tries to pounce and swallow Kumoko. She dodges, but it was a feint and he unleashes a low power breath attack at her at point blank range.
